Merida Warp Tri 7000-E (2016)

While triathletes have to accept clear guidelines (depending on the competition), such as those regarding drafting, the design of their bikes is not subject to rules that are as strict as those for time trials. For example, there is a “3:1 rule”, which specifies the length and width ratios of individual bicycle parts. Complying with these strict UCI rules, MERIDA engineers built a time trial bike (frameset available) for the professionals in our TEAM LAMPRE-MERIDA that leaves no questions unanswered. Special “NACA Fastback” carbon tube profiles (optimized in the wind tunnel) of the super-stiff “Nano Matrix” carbon frame, the innovative seat post that uses “Flip Flop Head” technology, internal cables, as well as direct mount brakes and a fork with extra-trim fork blades (making it independent of the air coming from the front wheel) all lower air resistance that the rider can optimally implement thanks to the maximally adjustable cockpit (patent pending). With more than 1000 possible adjustments, the combination of our “Modular Head” and “Modular Cockpit” technologies ensures a perfect fit of the bicycle to the position of every single athlete. What do triathletes get from all of this? The WARP TRI, which puts all this knowledge to optimum use for triathlons, such as an adjusted seat angle, an extended head tube and significantly increased practicality.
