The 2015 Merida Big.Nine 40 is an entry-level cross-country mountain bike. Rolling on big 29er wheels, the 40 conquers obstacles with ease, the fat treaded tires offering confident traction on trails, hardpack, grass, even pavement. Componentry is quality, including a clean-shifting Shimano drivetrain, sure-stopping disc brakes, and light, tough alloy wheels. The frame is lightweight aluminum, pairing with a suspension fork for a firm grip on the trail. With many different sizes and a very wide gear range, the 40 will fit riders of all sizes and fitness.
