FeaturesThe Supernova is manufactured utilizing the same NearNet molding technology as the Xenith SL on both frame & fork assuring the cleanest, most consistent, most accurately produced monocoque with the highest compaction qualities for the lightest AND strongest possible frames. Each tube shape is designed specifically for ‘Cross performance, including an angled portaging flat on the underside of the top tube, a massive 86.5mm EVO BB shell intended to handle the stress of “no footer” mounts and over-sized & ribbed chainstays for immediate power transfer. With Size Specific Tubing (SST) differential tubing diameters (larger diameters on larger frames, smaller diameters on smaller frames) that support big riders without punishing smaller ones. Our lay-ups have been FEA optimized, machine tested, then field tested on and off road to insure the perfect fiber lay-up, eliminating unnecessary layers of material, assuring the lightest, strongest, best performing ride. All derailleur and brake cables are routed internally to protect them from contamination as much as possible. And if you want to run electronically, no problem, the frame is already Di2 compatible. The new BB386 EVO bottom bracket design takes the lighter, stiffer 30mm alloy spindle of the original BB30 design, incorporates press fit bearing cups instead of direct fit bearings and marries it to a wider 86.5mm BB shell for a full 30%, increase in stiffness where you really need it. The 135mm rear dropout spacing of the Supernova makes for a stronger rear wheel. As drivetrain manufacturers have added more and more gears to the rear, the drive-side spoke flange has had to move towards the center of the hub, effectively weakening the rear wheel. Using a 135mm OLD rear disc hub instead increases the drive-side flange’s distance from the hub centerline, strengthening the wheel. This is especially critical because of the torsional loads disc brakes exert between rim and hub. Supernova’s full carbon, disc-specific fork features a tapered steerer tube for increased stiffness and strength and has been designed specifically to manage the brake torque generated by the disc brake at the fork tips. Disc specific Alex XC23 double-wall rims, Formula disc hubs (32/32H) and stainless spokes, this wheelset offers durability and precision. FSA’s BB386EVO Gossamer compact cross crank is spec’d with 46/36T all-conditions gearing to keep you on the bike instead of running and thanks to the benefits of the EVO BB system is over 100g lighter than it’s MegaExo counterpart. Avid’s BB7 disc brakes offer powerful stopping with light action at the lever. Their proprietary TRI-ALIGN Caliper Positioning System aligns pads with rotors easily & perfectly all the time, every time. Dual knob pad adjustment that offers easy on the fly adjustments. G2 CleanSweep 160mm rotors that are designed to help keep dirt and grime from mucking up your ride. SRAM's Apex Group with 1 to 1 shifting ratio won't be affected by the mud and other elements that get tossed their way. Vittoria Cross XG tires are no stranger to the podium, and with their predictable handling & grip, you won't be either. Selle San Marco's new SPID saddle looks racy while at the same time is designed for comfortably thanks to the ergonomic shape. Ritchey's Road cockpit is lightweight and proven in the cross circles.
