FeaturesWhat's an Icon?. Think Xenith SL aluminum race frame and you have the idea. Specifically designed and manufactured with the demands of racing in mind. Featuring a tapered 1 1/8-1.5 head tube, butted and tapered top tube, butted and ovalized down tube and chainstays, twin seat stays PF 30 BB and 34.9 seat tube -- everything about Icon has been optimized to shed weight, while delivering uncompromised performance at the lightest possible weight. And the 1150 gram weight of the 56cm frame (raw) proves it. Icon's seatstays run full length from dropout to seat tube increasing lateral stiffness while offering greater vertical compliance than standard larger diameter monostays. The larger 46mm bore diameter of the Press Fit 30 BB system increases the frame's bottom bracket shell providing a larger welding surface that increases frame strength. The key difference with Press Fit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups that are pressed into the frame's bottom bracket shell. Like BB30, Press Fit 30 uses the same bearing that is designed for a 30mm spindle cranksets. Advantages of Press Fit 30: Improved bearing-to-shell interface, greater bearing durability and simple installation. The full carbon Icon fork features a tapered steerer tube for increased stiffness and strength. Designing the fork to incorporate a 1.5" crown race allowed us to produce a full-hollow fork, from steerer tube through crown and down to the dropouts: it's not just lighter, it's stronger! Our Jamis 31.6mm carbon fiber seat post increases pedaling platform strength and dampens road vibration. Forged one-piece dropouts, with replaceable derailleur hanger, offer strength and reliability Mavic's Aksium Race wheelset features top Mavic technologies at entry level price point. Straight pull aero spokes, lightweight welded rims, cartridge bearing hubs, all at a sub 1800g package. Shimano's FCR565 compact 50/34T crank with Press Fit 30 and Wheels MFG adaptors take full advantage of the oversized BB shell, larger BB30 bearings while keeping a full Shimano group for better shifting. The compact chainring concept is revolutionary: a 34T inner chainring offers a 15% lower gear ratio than traditional 39T double ringed road cranks, but the 50T outer loses only 6% off the top end compared to the 53T traditional outer. You get the hill climbing capability of a triple, yet less weight than a standard double Shimano's 5700 105 drivetrain assures light, precise shifting over all 20 speeds. Tektro forged brake calipers with sure stopping cartridge pads deliver solid, predictable braking performance. Selle San Marco's new SPID Arrowhead saddle looks racy while at the same time is designed for comfortably thanks to the ergonomic shape and pressure relief cut-out in the shell. Ritchey's Logic bar and 4 bolt stem have proven themselves again & again at the highest level of international competition.
