FeaturesThe original Jamis Dakar multi-link suspension frame that has won numerous industry awards & accolades, as well as multiple World Cup & NORBA National titles, features asymmetrical chainstays and an internal cup head tube. Asymmetrical chainstays incorporate an elevated, straight stay on the nondrive side and a dropped stay on the drive side to achieve greater tire clearance and a stiffer, lighter rear triangle. Dakar XC's suspension system is fully active with a near-vertical wheel axle travel path, plus excellent lateral & torsional stiffness for rear wheel tracking precision. With frame sizes as small as 13", perfectly dimensioned for younger riders, and as large as 23" for big riders. Rock Shox's Monarch R rear shock offers hydraulic damping, external rebound and aluminum shaft and body for lighter weight. Rock Shox's XC32 TK Solo Air offers 100mm of travel, 32mm stanchions, aluminum crown, lockout and external rebound controls - all usable and functional "on-the-fly" adjustments that can be felt by the rider. The Solo Air feature allows air to fill both the positive and negative chambers using a single valve, simplifying suspension setup while retaining a plush ride. The Geax AKA is a versatile tire for all types of terrain with lower profile knobs in the center for low rolling resistance and side knobs directly derived from their aggressive Gato tire for grip. SRAM's X7 delivers the highest value MTB components in class. Exact actuation technology brings XX shifting performance to the X7 price level! SRAM's X5 44/33/22 crankset and PG-950 11-34 cassette supplies you with 27 gears to climb and cover more ground on any mountain. The GXP bottom bracket offers Gutter Seal Technology which drastically improves sealing against the elements. SRAM's X9 rear derailleur features Exact Actuation and Direct Route cable technology for smooth, quick and precise shifting with less effort. Avid's Elixir 1 offers the same ride quality as the upper end Elixirs with slightly fewer features. The brake features an ambidextrous lever body featuring Tapered Bore technology, easy access tooled reach adjust and a 2-piece caliper all resulting in a light great feeling brake. The Dakar XC Comp's cockpit includes 31.8 over-sized bars and stem for stiffer, more solid steering & handling, and a 31.6mm seat post for a firmer pedaling platform Jamis lock-on grips feature a dual compound including gel in the palm area for comfort and dual lock rings for no-slip security. Our Jamis ATB Comp saddle features a long, narrow shell that offers multiple, efficient pedaling positions with a full length pressure relief channel for a more comfortable platform and strong-but-light chromoly rails.
