Giant Roam 2 Disc (2017)

I added some modifications to this bike with bar ends along with drop bars. It looks weird but there's a reason. I commute on this bike daily and have also added a Blackburn rear rack that carries the toddler seat. It's really easy to mod the stock flat bars with accessories to accommodate your ride. This bike is a very comfortable ride and is fast compared other hybrids that I've tried. It has a sportier road bike feel over the mountain/road bike that I think it was designed. The shock forks have a switch that turns them from stiff to suspension shock. It never really sets to stiff however. At stop lights I need to shift my weight off the front wheel and readjust back to stiff. I've been riding this bike daily (minus the really gnarly weather days) for 14 months and have not had any issues that would require repairs. The brakes are solid after 1,200+ miles and have not needed any maintenance. This is my "Dad bike" but it doesn't have to be as when stripped of all of the copilot accessories, it still looks pretty sweet and is a lot lighter for trail riding. I ride places that I wouldn't take my road bike but not places that I take my MTB. This is a great commuter and perfect if you're carrying your kid for those epic dad rides.   Less
