Every bike brand has a cruiser model these days, and why not? The popularity of this style of bike means you would be crazy not to get in on the action. In saying that, there are certainly different levels of quality in cruisers and thankfully Felt have produced some of the better ones.
The Bixby here is a three speed hub geared model. The simple mechanism allows you to ride up gradual inclines more easily than on a typical single speed bike. This is no climber, mind you, but it is definitely a welcome addition. It is also nice to have an extra gear when riding into a headwind. Cruisers are supposed to be a relaxing ride, after all.
Styling and components are typical cruiser: low slung frame, balloon tires, big hangers and a comfy upright sitting position. Yep, the Bixby is for the slow, comfy road. The use of a steel frame adds some weight and may not be the best option for those living near the ocean. If this is you, then a regular wash down will prevent any premature corrosion from taking hold.
If you are looking for a well finished, good looking cruiser for some easy riding action then perhaps this is the bike for you. The Bixby doesn't reinvent the wheel, but in a sea of cheap, shoddy cruisers it certainly stands out.
The Felt Bixby is perfectly suited for your next commute to the office or trip to the beach. The sturdy cantilever frame and fun, modern graphics are distinctly Felt and will turn some heads wherever you are going. The balloon tires and upright handlebars make for a smooth ride and allow you to take in the scenery as the miles pass by. Remember, life is a journey, not a destination!
