The 2016 SRAM VIA 24 is a trekking groupset. Capable and simple, VIA provides a 3x8 drivetrain, operated with simple thiumb-operated trigger shifters; the shift levers incorporate a clear visual display to keep the rider informed. Brakes are solid-performing linear-pull, controlled with large, three- or four-finger levers for confident, sure stops. A highlight is the crankset: offered in a wide-spanning 28/38/48 triple, it's solid and quite efficient, and equipped with a low-profile chainguard to keep trousers grease-free. The group is available in black or a classy light gray.
A good trekking group.
