Reid Cycles Osprey (2016)

The 2016 Reid Cycles Osprey is an entry-level road bike. Reid's thoughtfulness and attention to detail is apparent here; while a model at this modest price point might receive less investment from another manufacturer, Reid has given it just as much care as any of its stable. The componentry reflects this most clearly: avoiding feature-itis, the drivetrain has an eight-speed cassette, paired with a Lasco crank to deliver a reliable, clean-shifting system. Brakes are Tektro dual pivot, providing substantially the same performance as a more expensive set at only a slight weight penalty. The tires are slender Kenda slicks, fast and durable.
A very good beginner's road bike.
