Rapha Pro Team Base Layer - Short Sleeve

This is a cycling base layer created for riding and racing in warm to hot conditions. Developed in conjunction with professional cyclists, the main body is made from an open mesh fabric that offers exceptional breathability and moisture transfer, while the stretch side panels offer a close, Pro Team fit. A new version of the base layer has the phrase ‘SOLDATS DU CYCLISME’ across the chest. This French expression, meaning ‘soldiers of cycling’ was used by journalists to describe riders of the fearsomely difficult early editions of the Tour de France. The white short sleeve version reads ‘TANT QUE JE RESPIRE, J’ATTAQUE’ meaning ‘As long as I breathe, I attack’. A famous phrase said by French great Bernard Hinault, it reflects the Badger’s aggressive style of racing. The black short sleeve version has the slogan 'NOUS MARCHONS À LA DYNAMITE' (‘we run on dynamite’), the words of Henri Pelissier, the 1923 winner of the Tour, who was describing how racers of his era were fuelled by an explosive concoction of stimulants. The hi-vis pink short sleeve version of the base layer reads, ‘SE FRENI, NON VINCI’, a phrase uttered by Mario Cipollini that illustrates the great sprinter’s simple desire to win at all costs: “If you brake, you won’t win.”
