| Features | SLOOP-A-HOOP: If you are going to try tricks like a "Pinky Squeak” or a “Whip” you want to have clearance between the seat and the handlebar. In bike geometry this translates into a sort seat tube or, in fancy words: great slooping. Why using a fancy word when you can make up an even fancier one? Sloop-a-hoop! Thin Top Tube (TTT): As opposed to traditional frames we decided to use the same tubing for the TT and the ST: 28.6 mm double-buttled tubing. A thin top tube enables the rider to perform specific flatland tricks while ensuring a good performance on street or park rides. Needless to say that it also helps to keep the bike weight low. SCS: A short chain stay pushes the rider's center of mass backwards. This enhances the grip and makes the bike easier to lift (for intance, when performing a "Bunny"). Different riders street-tested our protos until we found an optimal compromise. CS lenghts: 12,7" (S); 13.2" (M & L). Clear Headset: Most flatland and street pro riders prefer to remove the brakes of their bikes. We wanted to keep the design simple and that's why we included removable cable guides for those who don't need them. This, together with the integrated headset result into a neat HT. Rude Custom Dropouts: Early feedback from our riders showed us the importance of smooth-integrated dropouts. RUDE's custom dropouts enable a safe landing on the pegs during tricks. P4A - Pegs For All: The Orbea Rude is the first of its kind when it comes to hybrid BMX bikes. We want our riders to feel completely set and free to try Street, Park, Vert or Flat. For some specifc tricks you might need 4 pegs so we provide you with them from the beginning. No catch, just ask your dealer or look in the box. |
