| Features | 29er Platform: Frame layouts designed to maximize the inherent benefits of 29-inch wheels, which emphasize speed, stability, and traction. 29ers came about as cross country racers were looking for a wheel size that would roll more easily across terrain features (bumps, roots, etc). The larger diameter wheel decreases the angle between the tire as it rolls forward, and bumps, roots, and rocks, as they present themselves in front of the tire. This means that the tire is slowed down less as it overcomes the obstacle, which translates into less resistance to the rider. 29" platforms take maximum advantage of this larger wheel size to provide efficient pedalling to maximize rider output and performance. 3M Reflective Decals: Urban bike frame treatment that utilizes a special reflective decal application. These decals are scratch resistant and maintain the base color of the frame under natural light to offer a stealthy appearance. Once illuminated by the lights of a car, street lamp or other bikes, a reflective prism element in the decals bounce the light back, resulting in a bright outline of the decal panels on the frame for maximum visibility in dark conditions. Security Skewer System: Integrated wheel and seatpost skewers included on Marin Urban and Speed Commuter models with specially designed heads that require a dedicated tool for operation, deterring possible theft of parts. Special removable hex wrenches are included with each bike for fastening. CNC’d aluminum sleeves encase the bolt heads to prevent loosening with pliers or vise grips. |
