Dolan Dolan Seta (2012)
Dolan Seta
Seta, Italian for silk and the word that perfectly describes the smoothness of the ride and the elegance and simplicity of design of this newest frame by designer and builder Terry Dolan. The Seta brings you Dolan legacy in a full carbon frame design of incredibly light weight at a very sweet price.
Already tried and tested in pro events over the last few years courtesy of members of the British Cycling Endurance Track squad, the Dolan Seta is expected to take the world by storm over the coming year.
Noticing a gap in the market between high end alloy frames and the top end carbon frames such as the Dolan DF3, Dolan set about developing the original Seta two years ago. There was in-depth work in state of the art wind tunnels, then field testing the results and direct performance gains with some of British cycling’s top riders racing the prototype frames in various events around the world.
The conclusion of the development process is the new incredibly light Seta frame, constructed from Ultra hi-modulus UDP Carbon Fibre.
Unlike the vast majority of endurance track frames currently available, it has a high strength factor and stiffness that maximizes the rider’s transmission of power through the drive train. This is essential in order to cope with the stresses and strains of fixed gear riding, points which the Seta addresses by surrounding the bottom bracket with an increased amount of carbon fibre. The result: All the power you put into the bike to move it forward is not lost in any flexing of the frame.
As events get faster and faster it’s important that the frame presents no compromise in performance and is effortless to ride. The Dolan Seta hits the mark, combining the snap and light weight desired for the sprint feel with the essential comfort and smoothness of an endurance bike.
