For 2014 we are proud to introduce the next level of Diamondback 29’er supremacy with the Overdrive Carbon series. These XC race-ready dream machines are dialed from top to bottom and carry a look so sinister they are sure to elevate your heart rate before you even hit the saddle.
The Overdrive Carbon series takes our bestselling 29” bike and makes it even better. Utilizing the exact same trail/XC geometry as our Aluminum Overdrive series, the Carbon Overdrive incorporates our proprietary Advanced Monocoque Molding Process (AMMP) technology using the highest-grade carbon, constructed in the most precise manner, to produce a world-class racing machine. The frame also boasts of a 142×12mm carbon drop out, post-mount disc tabs and a tapered head tube for front end torsional stiffness for precise steering.
The Geometry is spot on. The ever so sloping top tube provides ample standover clearance for a 29” wheeled rig. A 71° head tube angle and a 73° seat tube angle create the perfect XC/trail geometry. The 440mm (17.3 inch) chainstays equate to an extremely snappy rig and the ability to easily get the front wheel off the ground.
Specific to the Overdrive Carbon Expert is the FOX 32 FLOAT CTD 29” E-S. This top shelf fork from FOX gives you 100mm of plush travel up front with a CTD remote lockout that grants you 5 different compression settings to optimize your ride for low and high rates of speed. The 15mm thru-axle increases the front end stiffness for enhanced steering and traction. Tie in the Avid Elixir 7 Hydraulic Disc brakes with 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors and you have one of the best in class values for a 29er at this level, period.
SRAM provides the 10 speed drivetrain with the premium quality and style of the X7 Front derailleur, X9 Type 2 Rear Derailleur and the S1400 10spd crankset. Add in Diamondback SL-7 double wall rims with WTB Wolverine Race tires and you are set to conquer any and all obstacles.
The Easton EA70 XC 31.8mm carbon handlebars, stem, and seatpost with M-Race saddle round out the cockpit.
