The 2013 Insight STI-8 performance hybrid is a top of the line bike aimed to please those who commute, train exercise, or are simply looking for a smooth riding bike to recreate on.
The basis of the Insight STI-8 is the 6061-T6 Butted Aluminum Performance Hybrid frame with a formed/hooded top tube, an integrated headtube, and vertically compliant stays (VCS).
Fit specifically for the frame is an Insight Integrated Alloy aero straight blade fork keeping your ride smooth, stable and precise. Simplicity is key here and we’ve made things as simple as possible by providing a Shimano Nexus internally geared 8spd hub in the rear and a single 38tring up front. This keeps maintenance simple and your ride quiet at the same time. The hub sports a Shimano 18t sprocket in the rear so if has the look and feel of a single speed while providing the 8 separate gearing options… all controlled by a Shimano SL8S-20 light action 8spd, twist grip shifter. That’s right folks… no derailleurs!
The 32h Equation R23 Doublewall rims are tough and will keep things spinning in the long term. Kenda Kwick Trax puncture resistant 700×32c tires complete the wheel package and provide great puncture protection for your daily commute or those long event rides.
Tektro linear pull brakes with reach adjust afford a fair amount of stopping power sure to keep you out of harm’s way. The rest of the cockpit is proprietary Diamondback alloy with an oversized handlebar and 3D Forged 7° stem to give the appropriate rise for maximum steering control and comfort.
A DB Performance Hybrid saddle with gel sits atop a 27.2 alloy micro adjust seat post offering an exceptionally comfortable ride whether that be in your next cause ride or simply around the block.
