For 2013, Shimano has expanded the cassette to 11 speeds, its 11-28 teeth providing a broad gearing range so you can tackle the mountain stage. The Aeroad CF 9.0 will spur you on when you break away from the peleton, its aerodynamic lines minimising wind resistance for greater speed. The science behind this is the smaller frontal area – 20% smaller – and the high grade Reynolds Assault carbon fibre clinchers. These aerodynamic wheels have 46 mm rims for impressive stiffness – which directly translates into acceleration.
