Description

The Cannondale Synapse Hi-MOD Black Inc. is the brand's flagship endurance road racer...designed for performance and all-day comfort. Shimano's top-drawer Dura Ace 11-speed groupset handles the drivetrain duties, and a Vision Metron aero wheelset rounds out the package. Parts from FSA and Schwalbe finish things off.

The Specialized S-Works Roubaix SL4 Dura-Ace Di2 is the pinnacle of endurance road racing bicycles. This bike features an advanced carbon frame and fork fitted with vibration-reducing inserts. These inserts absorb road chatter, leaving the rider fresher at the end of long rides. Shimano's top shelf Dura Ace Di2 components make up the drivetrain, and parts from S-Works take care of cockpit duties. A Roval wheelset is the crowning touch.

Speed. Precise handling. Endurance. These are all attributes of top-level racers, and also of the Trek Domane Classics Edition, an advanced road racer that is designed for the long haul. This bike features a lightweight carbon frame and fork, both outfitted with vibration-reducing inserts to help fight rider fatigue. Shimano's top-shelf Dura Ace Di2 components shift with the utmost precision, and parts from Cane Creek and Bontrager round out the spec. Bontrager's Aeolus wheelset finishes things off.

Features

RIDER PROFILE:
People who live for the love of the ride. Fit, serious, high-performance riders who set their sights beyond the tightly defined world of the pure racer; Gran Fondo specialists, all-day-epic riders, and those who long to venture off the smooth and easy.

Synapse is:
S.E.R.G. Synapse Endurance Race Geometry
With its slightly taller head tube, slightly longer wheelbase and slightly slacker head angle, S.E.R.G. strikes the ideal balance between pure race positioning and upright comfort. Perfect for long days in the saddle and confident handling on all road surfaces.

SAVE PLUS Micro-Suspension System
The SAVE PLUS Micro-suspension system is a three part system, comprised of the carbon lay-up, the rear triangle and fork, and the seat post and seat tube, all designed to collaborate seamlessly to reduce vibration, improve handling, and increase comfort.

SAVE PLUS Micro-suspension system (Rear Triangle and Fork)
The frame and fork's carbon layup is designed to optimize high-frequency vibration dissipation, reducing road buzz. The radical helixed shapes of the chain stays and seat stays work in conjunction with the offset dropout fork to allow the wheels to track over imperfections in the road for better handling and control, seated or standing.

SAVE PLUS Micro-suspension system (Seat post and Seat tube)
The elegantly scalloped seat tube and the smaller diameter 25.4mm seatpost are designed to flex together to provide more comfort when seated. The integrated collarless seat clamp allows more of the seatpost to flex than with a traditional clamp.

Power Pyramid/BB30A
The seat tube splits asymmetrically to meet a new wider 73mm BB30A bottom bracket, for maximum stiffness with minimal weight.

Synapse BallisTec Carbon frame options:

Synapse Hi-MOD:
BallisTec Hi-MOD carbon construction. High and ultra-high modulus fibers create an interconnected stiffening network throughout an extremely strong and durable base structure. Ultra light, strong and stiff.

Synapse Carbon:
Same lay-up, same molds and same ballistic base fibers as the Hi-MOD version, but utilizing a higher percentage of intermediate modulus fibers to tune stiffness and ride feel.

700 x 28c Tires
The larger tires (up to 28c) found on the Synapse models provide more comfort, are better suited for differing road conditions, and are less likely to pinch flat.

- S-Works SL4 FACT 11r frame with Zertz is the fastest and smoothest endurance bike available, with
incredible light weight, size-specific engineering, and tapered headtube; S-Works FACT carbon fork with
Zertz has size-specific engineering to create a more balanced and stable ride for riders of different sizes

- Ultra-light, Roval Rapide CLX 40 carbon clincher wheelset with CeramicSpeed bearings, paired with the
new S-Works Turbo 26c 220TPI tire for a fast and light setup. Extremely low rolling resistance and
superior cornering traction lets you climb easily, descend faster, and corner harder

- S-Works FACT carbon crankset with OSBB, removable carbon spider, and CeramicSpeed ceramic
bearings has incredible stiffness-to-weight for max power transfer

- Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain offers the same precision performance and light weight as
their famed mechanical systems, but with the convenience of simple, intuitive shifting levers

- The revolutionary CG-R post features 18mm of vertical compliance and Zertz vibration damping, while
FACT carbon construction delivers unsurpassed comfort, control, and efficiency without adding weight or
complication to the frame

600 Series OCLV: Each level of OCLV offers the best ride for the money, thanks to an optimal balance of areal weight, stiffness, and compliance. 600 Series OCLV features advanced aerospace materials and weight-saving, performance-enhancing technology to achieve the best frame weight/stiffness combinations in the industry.

StepJoint Technology: An OCLV Carbon exclusive. After molding each specific piece (or lug) for a frame, we join the lugs into a complete frame using StepJoint Technology, our proprietary method of bonding two carbon structures together perfectly, with no overlap, no excess carbon, and consistent tube wall thickness throughout.

IsoSpeed Decoupler: At the core of Domane’s comfort technology is the IsoSpeed decoupler, the result of an 18-month study of how a racing bike performs over rough roads, and how that performance affects the rider. Trek engineers designed a decoupler that allows the seat tube to rotate independently from the top-tube-to-seatstay junction, increasing vertical compliance to twice that of our nearest competitor, without compromising pedaling efficiency. Result: you can ride harder, longer.

Ride Tuned Seatmast: Our Ride Tuned seatmast is the lightest, most comfortable solution for day-in, day-out performance and comfort. The no-cut design eliminates traditional seatpost clamping forces, so we can use less material at the seat tube junction, resulting in a lighter frame. Most seatmast systems have to be cut, leaving little or no room for adjustability. Our Ride Tuned seatmast system has more than 10cm of adjustment, making it the most adjustable system on the market.

Electronic Drivetrain Integration: Specific cable stops and proprietary seat tube battery mount or bottom bracket battery mount allow for a perfect interface with the industry-leading electronic drivetrain systems without a single zip tie or strip of tape. It’s the most seamless component integration in the industry. Easily replace the bottom bracket cable stop with a slick battery mount, or use an internal battery for the cleanest and lightest system.

BB90: BB90 is the widest bottom bracket available on a road bike. This Trek-exclusive carbon BB makes the frame lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate. BB90 eliminates the need for extra inserts and parts in the bottom bracket/frame junction. Fewer parts mean a lighter frame. And a lighter frame means a faster ride.

E2 Head Tube and Fork: Our E2 head tube tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1-1/8" upper bearing, and is wider side to side than front to back. This asymmetric steering system minimizes weight while maximizing power transfer and keeping the fork stiffer under cornering loads. Result: a more powerful and confident ride.

E2 Asymmetric Steerer: A fork has two competing directives: provide lateral rigidity for precise cornering, and offer vertical compliance to absorb road vibration. Trek’s full-carbon E2 asymmetric fork/steering tube is the first steerer specifically shaped to manage both. The fork is wider side-to-side to stiffen under cornering load, narrower front to back for comfort.

3S Integrated Chain Keeper: Our 3S chain keeper is integrated directly into the bike frame. It's an elegant solution that provides flawless shifting even on rough roads and under heavy loads. No more standing on the side of the road, covered in grease, unwedging your dropped chain as competitors race by.

Performance Cable Routing: Trek’s performance cable routing is highly engineered for unshakable precision and the real-world performance that comes from better compatibility with current drivetrains. Optimal routing through the frame provides flawless shifting, better braking, sleeker aerodynamics, and easier assembly and maintenance.
