It offers the lowest hand position options available for Madone, and is the choice of many of our Pro Team riders. Pro Tour-tested geometry: The perfect balance of handling, comfort, and acceleration. Does everything well, and has 9 Tour de France victories to prove it. Project One: Don't settle for anyone else's bike. Create your very own with Project One, Trek's custom bike program. Customize, personalize, sensationalize, the choice is yours. Just select the model, paint scheme, and components you desire, and we'll build your dream bike. To get started, visit trekbikes.com/projectone or see your participating Trek retailer. 3S integrated chain keeper: Our 3S chain keeper is integrated directly into the bike frame. It's an elegant solution that provides flawless shifting even on rough roads and under heavy loads. No more standing on the side of the road, covered in grease, unwedging your dropped chain as competitors race by. E2 asymmetric steerer: A fork has two competing directives: provide lateral rigidity for precision cornering, and offer vertical compliance to absorb road imperfections. Trek’s E2 asymmetric fork/steering tube is the first steerer specifically shaped to manage both. E2 head tube and fork: Our E2 head tube tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1-1/8" upper bearing, and is wider side to side than front to back. This asymmetric steering system minimizes weight while maximizing power transfer and keeping the fork stiffer under cornering loads. Result: a more powerful and confident ride. Direct-mount front derailleur: Provides accurate shifting in a lightweight, minimal package. DuoTrap compatible: DuoTrap seamlessly integrates the computer sensor into the frame to measure speed, distance, and cadence with no added aerodynamic drag. It works with all the major ANT+ wireless technology players, including Bontrager, Garmin, PowerTap, and SRM. StepJoint Technology: An OCLV Carbon exclusive. After molding each specific piece (or lug) for a frame, we join the lugs into a complete frame using StepJoint Technology, our proprietary method of bonding two carbon structures together perfectly, with no overlap, no excess carbon, and consistent tube wall thickness throughout. HexSL carbon: Ultra-advanced HexSL carbon fiber defies the stiffness/strength tradeoff by increasing both simultaneously. A Trek exclusive, found only in 700 Series OCLV. Integrated brakes: Brakes should slow you down, but only when you apply them. We built front and rear brakes directly into the Madone fuselage to keep them hidden from the wind, reducing drag. In addition to improving aerodynamics, integrating the brakes eliminates the need for mounting plates and bolts, saving weight. Brakeless seatstay: Madone’s integrated brakes allowed us to redesign the seatstay, eliminating the brake bridge and removing reinforcing layers to shed weight without compromising performance. Unrestricted by the need for a brake mount, we positioned the stays for best performance and incorporated the KVF shape for maximum aero benefit. KVF tube shape: We based the all-new Madone frame on our groundbreaking KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) tube shape. KVF minimizes drag using a truncated airfoil shape. The virtual tail of the airfoil bends to respond to the angle of the most common crosswinds, significantly reducing drag in the real world, where it really matters. It's like getting 25 free watts. The truncated KVF shape uses less material than a conventional airfoil, so it reduces weight as it improves aerodynamics. We engineered the road-optimized KVF tube shape used on Madone specifically to maintain frame stiffness, so the bike accelerates instantly and handles brilliantly, just as you’ve come to expect from Madone. KVF fork: Our all-new fork features KVF aero legs to minimize drag. Its ride-tuned sweep increases compliance for greater comfort, and unique molded carbon dropouts reduce weight and optimize the wheelbase. The new fork also increases lateral stiffness for ultra-precise handling. Complete Integration: Every carbon piece, from front derailleur mount to water bottle bosses, is molded into the frame, eliminating redundant material and reducing weight. Ride Tuned seatmast: Our Ride Tuned seatmast is the lightest, most comfortable solution for day-in, day-out performance and comfort. The no-cut design eliminates traditional seatpost clamping forces, so we can use less material at the seat tube junction, resulting in a lighter frame. Most seatmast systems have to be cut, leaving little or no room for adjustability. Our Ride Tuned seatmast system has more than 10cm of adjustment, making it the most adjustable system on the market. Internal cable routing: You can look for the brake and shift cables, but you won’t see them... and neither will the wind. Cables contribute a massive amount of drag, and routing them internally through the bars and frame eliminates that drag and maximizes speed. Electronic drivetrain integration: Specific cable stops and a slick bottom bracket battery mount allow for a perfect interface with the industry-leading electronic drivetrain systems without a single zip tie or strip of tape. It’s the most seamless component integration in the industry. Replace the bottom bracket cable stop with a slick battery mount using a single screw. Electronic drivetrain cable connectors are 7mm wide instead of the standard 4mm. We include specific adapters for both, so you don't need electrical tape to route cables through the frame. BB90: BB90 is the widest bottom bracket available on a road bike. This Trek-exclusive carbon BB makes the frame lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate. BB90 eliminates the need for extra inserts and parts in the bottom bracket/frame junction. Fewer parts mean a lighter frame. And a lighter frame means a faster ride. 700 Series OCLV: Over two decades ago, Trek engineers developed our Optimum Compaction, Low Void carbon manufacturing process, enabling us to produce carbon bikes with consistency and quality previously thought impossible. It was an industry breakthrough… and to this day, Trek OCLV carbon frames are the best, most consistent you can buy. Each level of OCLV offers the best ride for the money, thanks to an optimal balance of areal weight, stiffness, and compliance. 700 Series OCLV is the lightest, strongest carbon in the cycling world, built from strategic materials available exclusively to Trek. It’s the ultimate combination of superior modulus and superior strength, only from Trek.
