Alpha Gold Aluminum: Our high-performance lightweight aluminum is continuously cold extruded and butted for weight reduction and superior strength. Frames built with Alpha Gold feature some degree of mechanical and hydroforming to create more sophisticated shapes for lighter weight, and are finished using Trek's smooth-weld finishing process.
Road geometry: All Districts feature road-bike geometry, for a whip-fast ride without the Lycra look.

The Gates Carbon Drive belt is a carbon-composite one-piece design, at least 300 grams lighter than any chain. The Belt Drive system requires no lube, no mess, no grease, and no worries. The carbon composite construction of the Gates Carbon Drive belt has the riding lifespan of three chains.
Puncture-resistant tires: Hard-Case Lite: Bontrager's first line of defense involves a subtread protective layer that prevents glass and stone from puncturing the tube. The protective layer varies in thickness and material by tire type and intended use, for optimal protection and minimal weight. Hard-Case: Bontrager's next level of defense provides triple flat protection: 1) Aramid belt wards off tread punctures. 2) Anti-cut casing offers bead-to-bead protection. 3) Anti-pinch sidewall prevents pinchflats on less-than-perfect terrain. Eccentric bottom bracket: Eccentric BB allows for a geared or singlespeed drivetrain.
Internal cable routing: We route shift and brake cables through the frame to keep things clean and simple. And it looks great, too.
Over-center dropout: The orientation of the rear dropout keeps the rear wheel perfectly in place even when the skewer has been pulled. This makes aligning the rear wheel and tensioning singlespeed chains or belts much easier and more precise. You no longer need to tension the drivetrain, align the wheel, and secure the rear axle simultaneously.
