SRAM eTAP
The 2016 SRAM eTAP group is an electronic-shift parts group. The first from SRAM, eTAP starts with the top-end Red mechanical road group, adding versatile electronic shifting via traditional combination shift/brake levers or the novel Blip, locatable anywhere, complemented nicely with the S-9xx aero brake levers, an excellent pairing for time trials. Options for positioning include direct mounting, bar-end mounting, and a strap-on mount for 31.8mm bar diameters. The BlipBox communication hub mounts easily, compatible with Garmin mounts; when using paddle shifters the BlipBox is not required, Blip ports present for both left and right levers.
Rechargeable batteries for the derailleurs are interchangeable; standard disposable CR2032 batteries are used for the shifters. An indicator light informs the rider when battery charge is low. Charge span is estimated to be greater than 1000km on the road.
