Description

The Giant Defy 1 is a well packaged bike for the beginner road cyclist or triathlete. For an insanely low price you get a great aluminium frame, carbon fiber fork and a Shimano groupset. You also get components from Giant, Tektro and KMC to complete a brilliant starting bike for anyone looking to jump into this lycra-clad world!

The Specialized Allez Elite is a perfect "first" road bike for beginning enthusiasts, but it doesn't skimp on performance. This bike features an advanced alloy frame and carbon fork for great handling on the roads. A reliable Shimano Tiagra drivetrain and parts from Tektro, FSA, and AXIS add value to this fun and speedy road machine.

Trek's 1.2 is a great "first" road bike for novices or those who want to try road riding. This bike offers the performance and styling of Trek's expensive pro-level race bikes, but at a fraction of the price. The 1.2 features a lightweight aluminum frame and carbon fork for superb handling and stability. Durable Shimano Sora components shift with precision, and parts from FSA, SRAM, and Bontrager finish off the bike.

Tons of performance, easy on the budget: that's the Trek Madone 3.1. This bike offers race-bred handling and stiffness for a fast, confident ride. The frame and fork are of carbon construction, using Trek's patented OCLV process. Shimano's 105 and Tiagra components team up to take care of drivetrain duties, and cockpit and wheel parts from Bontrager add value to this package.

Features

Compact Road Design:
In 1997, when riders on the legendary Spanish pro team ONCE rolled up to the start of a race on a compact geometry Giant bike, the competition didn’t quite know what to think. For decades before that moment, the design and geometry of road bikes had remained essentially the same. Giant’s new approach was a radical departure, and we called it Compact Road design.

ALUXX SL:
Extremely lightweight framesets featuring high-performance strength-to-weight ratios

- Double-butted, smooth-welded A1 Premium Aluminum frame offers quality, durability, and light weight while
featuring our race proven geometry for precise handling
- Specialized FACT carbon fork is ultra lightweight and provides precise steering through the tightest turns
- Tough, durable, three-cross AXIS Classic wheelset
- FSA Tempo compact crankset, pairs perfectly with 10-speed Shimano Tiagra STI shifters for smooth and
precise shifting

100 Series Alpha Aluminum: Trek's high-performance aluminum, with manipulated tube shapes to balance strength and weight savings.

H2 Fit: H2 features a slightly higher head tube to put less strain on your back and neck. It's the right way to get most riders, including many of our Pro Team riders, in the right place. With no need for high-rise stems or spacer stacks, the look is nothing but pro.

300 Series OCLV: Each level of OCLV offers the best ride for the money, thanks to an optimal balance of areal weight, stiffness, and compliance. 300 Series OCLV is a better carbon at an amazing price, with smooth, intermediate-modulus material. Great performance and affordability don't have to be mutually exclusive.

E2 Head Tube and Fork: Our E2 head tube tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1-1/8" upper bearing, and is wider side to side than front to back. This asymmetric steering system minimizes weight while maximizing power transfer and keeping the fork stiffer under cornering loads. Result: a more powerful and confident ride.

SpeedTrap Compatible: SpeedTrap seamlessly integrates the computer sensor into the fork to measure speed and distance with no added aerodynamic drag.

BB86.5: Wide, stiff press-fit bottom bracket improves pedalling performance for exhilarating acceleration.
