Review

The Trek CrossRip LTD is the perfect bike for any riding condition. With gravel and cross riding becoming more popular, I was excited to get my turn on this bike and off the paved road.

Looking at it, you'll see quality finish and detail you've come to expect from Trek. To keep the lines of this bike clean, cables are run internally and Trek added a Blendr system stem. [For those of you wondering, a Blendr stem is built to mount accessories (like lights or computers) without adding bulk to the handlebars.] It not only makes the bike look cleaner, it leaves the entirety of the bars clear for all riding hand positions.

Now for the ride. This bike handles amazingly well and it felt solid and smooth through all of my turns on the pavement. I set out to push the limits on dirt and was surprised when the bike handled the exact same way off road as it did on the road. Although the frame is aluminum, it felt sturdier than other bikes with similar frame design. Maybe that's why it handles so well and is responsive? I felt little in the way of vibrations when on the trail thanks to the vibration-damping IsoZone road bars.

After riding this bike for some time, I knew exactly how it was going to perform when I was flying down the trail and suddenly found an obstacle in my way. I wasn't worried at all - I braked quickly and plenty of stopping power came from the super responsive hydraulic disc brakes.

I put the CrossRip in the same category as others twice its price. It's a great bike for every single use I could think of. It has the drop bars so you get the road bike feel, but it has 32c tires so you can venture off the road and not have to worry so much about grip or flat tires.

I recommend this bike to any rider looking for a smooth, comfortable ride with exploration on their mind. It will take you places you've never been before. Isn't that why you fell in love with riding in the first place? Freedom and the ability to go places you normally wouldn't go. Whether you're a seasoned pro or you've just taken off the training wheels, a Trek CrossRip LTD should be considered when you choose adventure.
