There are many fast bikes available today, but often, speed comes with sacrifices – fatigue and handling. While highly rigid frames may be effective in transferring wattage from the muscles to the tarmac, the human cost is those microshocks from the road surface which transfer directly back to those very fibres that create the power. That, and the bike’s handling – cornering predictability is compromised, resulting in a ‘nervous’ ride. We set the geometry and tuned the design so that it cheats the wind, and rails the bends.
FRAME DESIGN
Geometry and tube profiles may cheat the wind, transfer power and make you go quicker, but it puts the handling on a knife-edge. Our main focus was speed, but we also took inspiration from the Ultravox, setting angles to tame the handling.
Plus we combined the high tensile T1000, T800 and T700 materials with modulus fibres to help absorb the road buzz.
