Review

This bike is perfect for the entry level Cross Country Cyclist.

Specialized teamed up with their very own Ned Overend to design a more affordable version of their Stumpjumper line. With this new release specialized has opened up a new starting level bike for the cycling newbie who doesn't want to waste their time or money on a bike that won't last.

Although this bike is heavy compared to most race bikes you definitely get your money's worth with the frame geometry and reliable component group. This bike features a plush Fox 29 fork that will make you forget you aren't riding a carbon race bike, but at the same time you can still blame the bike if you lose.

Details

The Specalized CARVE PRO 29 comes stocked with the 100mm-travel Fox Evolution CTD fork. Shifting is taken care of with the Shimano 2x10 drivetrain using an XT / SLX mix of components. While the custom SRAM 10-speed XC double-ring crankset with 29er gearing and GXP bottom bracket transfer your power to the wheels. Now the get going stuff is covered the CARVE PRO 29er uses the Avid Elixir 5R SL hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm front and 160mm rear rotor to make sure stopping is not an issue.
