Review

Direct from the USA, the Cannondale Synapse Disc features all the bells and whistles! From a full carbon Hi-MOD frameset through to a rocking groupset... this bike has it all, including disc brakes. The design of this bike points towards endurance and performance, with racy frame geometry, (albeit with a nod towards endurance), accompanied by top line component selections.

A reliable choice of Enve Smart 3.4's are fitted with disc rotors. The quality of these wheels is second to none, which is where the endurance aspect comes into play. Reliable, simple and durable. A set of Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tires finish things off.

The groupset is a full Shimano assortment of electronic Dura Ace Di2, featuring an 11 speed rear cassette, accompanied by a super lightweight Cannondale Hollowgram crankset and 50/34 chainrings - which speak further of this bikes intended rider.

The rest of the bike features an array of quality parts, from Fizik saddle through to Cannondale carbon handlebars and an FSA SL-K seatpost to keep you roosted.

The brakes are Shimano BR785 road hydraulic discs which feature a slightly smaller rotor than you'd see on an off-road bike. The braking is reportedly not as sharp as you might expect from a hydraulic disc brake. This is for obvious safety reasons when riding a very light, very nimble road bike! The brake modulation is very similar to rim brakes of the past.

This Synapse is aimed at the experienced cyclist looking for the best bike, but is also concerned about compliance and endurance dynamics. A great all-day ride that will perform with aplomb in all conditions and be the envy of all your friends! Could you ask for more?
