Review

When it comes to urban commuting, the Cannondale Bad Boy 1 is in a league of its own. The unique frame design, paired with a matte black finish, gives this machine such an aggressive look.

Lets get down to business and talk about what this bike has to offer. The Shimano Alfine drivetrain keeps shifting simplistic, while Magura MT2 hydraulic disc brakes ensure you stop safely and on a dime.

Forget about looks for a second and lets talk about performance. The Bad Boy 1 features a Headshok Fatty Solo DL50, 50mm fork. Once out on the road, this rigid bike allows for smooth sailing when it comes to those pesky city potholes. Never fear a beat up road again. This bike performs well under harsh city riding conditions. Schwalbe Kojak Race Guard 700x28c tires add to the smoothness of the ride and makes any afternoon chore feel well worth the commute. To allow you to tackle those city streets, Cannondale uses a Shimano Alfine 8 speed gear hub system that performed above my expectations. Shifting was flawless and the 8 speed hub provided me with a sufficiently wide range of gearing options and resistance.

The Cannondale Bad Boy 1 definitely caught my eye. You're sure to be the talk of the town when riding this single blade "lefty fork" bike. I highly recommend this bike to someone looking for a great commuter. It's perfect for commuting with dress pants on, without the fear of getting grease all over your leg. With the simplicity of the Shimano Alfine internal gear hub, any rider would find this bike a joy to ride. This is one stealthy looking beast of a bike and you'll feel like a real cool kid or bad boy rolling down the streets behind the bars.
