IZIP is a US-based manufacturer of E-bikes. Currently, the company offers a wide range of models, with everything from heavy duty carrying capacity, to near-cruiser casual, to commuters, even including a fat bike. Multiple power assist systems are on the parts roster, selected to fit the intended use. IZIP bikes are available at bike shops throughout the US.

Founded in 2005, the company has grown steadily, expanding its network of dealers and maintaining a versatile range of bikes. Power assist choices span from Shimano's STEPS system to the powerful Currie Electro-Drive, all smoothly integrated with the drivetrain and mounted securely at the bottom bracket.

The mountain bikes are pure recreation, equipping full suspension and hardtail traditional cross country bikes with enough extra power to finally climb that hill in the saddle. Kit is always chosen for the rigors of e-biking, from tough tires to big brake rotors. All the MTBs have a single-ring drivetrain, fully functional independent of the assist.

The city bikes could be considered fast commuters or enjoyable recreational bikes; layout ranges from casual to serious, all nicely accessorized with full fenders, racks, and a rear-mount kickstand. The recreational bikes have internal batteries and simple gearing and braking systems, very welcoming to the most casual of riders.

The utility bikes are truly utilitarian. Heavy duty racks, tough wheels, and disc brake systems permit the carrying of large loads with relative ease and high reliability. These bikes would fit in just as well in city traffic as they would in a warehouse.

IZIP makes electric assist bikes, from practical to recreational. Stop by your local shop and see whether there's a good one for you.
