Buddy Bike is a U.S.-based tandem bike manufacturer. Its unique design puts the smaller rider in front while the rear rider steers. Bikes can be ordered directly from the company and shipped to a local bike shop anywhere in the world. A small number of shops carry Buddy Bikes, several in the U.S. and Canada, and one each in the UK, Singapore, Germany, and Australia.

Founded in 2005, Buddy Bike took the idea, and all remaining stock, of the Love Bike, a casual rear-steer tandem, and honed it for safe use with aspiring cyclists with special needs. Today the company makes four models, with a variety of componentry and sizing to fit practically any pair.

The bike is an ingenious solution to paired riding, permitting the smaller rider the opportunity to ride in front, steer, brake, and pedal. The default build includes traditional saddle and pedals; options are available for both, including a seat with back support and foot pegs for riders who do not wish to pedal.

The bikes are all aluminum framed, capable of carrying up to 380 pounds, with sturdy alloy wheels clad in puncture-resistant tires. Each bike is equipped with dual braking systems for captain and stoker, and a handlebar with positions for both riders.

Buddy Bikes are a great solution for paired riding. Demo rides are available at the company's warehouse locations and from its dealers.
